Cliche Alert!

When I think about how fast all of this has happened, how a mere three months ago I was a happily married man, sometimes I imagine that this whole thing has been a [cliche alert!] surreal dream that I'll wake up from any day now. How can I be getting divorced? Other people may get divorced, but we have a happy marriage!

The question is whether this weird dream started three months ago or 4.5 years ago. Did I imagine the entire relationship or just the part where the wife freaks out and leaves me?
